Projects
Production posters
For my school production, I was in charge of advertising. I had to design posters that highlighted an aspect of the show.
Firstly I had to design the posters and show my idea to the teacher in charge. From there I took pictures of the two main characters and asked my teacher to help me create these pictures into silhouettes. These silhouettes, as you can see, were then creativity edited onto a poster where the text was added and then the final product was completed.

Podcast

For one of my assignments I was asked to film a raw introduction and then edit it into a roughly 3 minute podcast.
I chose this as one of my projects because it shows my technical abilities to produce a podcast. It was originally a 10 minute interview which I was then asked to shorten and create into a podcast.
Even though it is only short, it highlights that I can edit an interview and make it more entertaining. As the topic of Type 1 Diabetes is important to me, it helped me create a more specific story that I hope would engage audiences.
Website assessment
For my final project I chose a website that I created. Below is the link to the website and the images I drew for the website.

The images are purposefully drawn to a lower quality as I wanted to depict the way a child draws. It is aimed to make the audience sympathise with the story of Kajal and get an idea of what these children endure. I was hooked by the idea of focusing on child labour because I am passionate about equality and ensuring children get educated. This story just resonated and interested me the most, which made creating the website fun and therefore enriched my experience. I now know how to create an interactive website, which undoubtedly, helped me create this website you’re on right now.

The Last of Mother
The soft pitter-patter of the storm drowned out the sound of the busy street below. I was watching the beads of water race each other on the window facing the last of Mother there was in my city. After they took control, greenery was a sight children would only hear about in stories. Candar was the only city lucky enough to have a view of this beauty. According to my parents, ancestors used to walk through cities of trees, I can only imagine how magical that would have been.
"Lisa, turn the lights on please".
The room illuminates slowly to a dimmed red-yellow haze. This is what a sunset is meant to look like. I usually ask Lisa to project images of nature and sunsets on my bare white canvas. My other walls are painted in pastel colours and have images pinned up of what I've drawn in classes. Other kids my age don't see the worth of art, but it's a major comfort to me. I walk down the stairs and into the kitchen to find hot chocolate and a note from my Mum waiting on the pristine slab of marble.
Hayley,
Your Father and I had to leave for a meeting.
Dinner is in the fridge. Do not forget to feed the
fish. Love you - Mum

Lisa, who technically doesn't even exist, is more present than my parents. They are always either at meetings or having parties with people I have never met before. As I wonder over to the fridge Lisa's voice surrounds the room asking what I want to watch on tv. I decide against the idea of eating and watching whatever crappy show is on and decide to walk over to the front door. My hoverboard is already out as if Lisa read my mind. The petrichor emanating from the concrete slabs discovers my nose. The clouds above have eaten up the sky and even though it's close to midnight the light pollution makes the sky as bright as a phone screen in the middle of the night. People below are drag racing in the streets and somewhere people are dancing to what was known as 'k-pop'. I slide on my headphones and the music envelopes me. Pulled away into another world. As I glide through the now paused storm, I take the liberty to travel down to the lone tree. The massive ads projected on the sides of the sky scrapers telling people to download the newest apps or informing us that there's always people watching makes me think of Big Brother. On approaching the looming natural shelter I notice something very wrong. The leaves are drooping as if it is trying to speak to me, to warn me. I walk up close and tears creep into my eyes. A big red 'X' marks the tree as if to exclaim that the tree is already gone.
I race to get my phone out and I place it in the air asking it to call Will. His face warms the screen.
"Will, you won' t believe it".
"Come on Hays. It's just past 1, I need to sleep", he groans.
"Look".
The phone turns in the air towards the massive death sentence and an inaudible gasp escapes Will's lips.
"I'll come now. Wait for me", he whispers.
He immediately ends the call and I make my way to the inviting trunk. The smell of the rain against the wood feels like a warm hug. I get comfortable against the brown tower and whisper:
"I'll protect you. No matter the cost".
Sitting and waiting for Will did not remove the inevitable doom slowly creeping towards the tree and me. It was as if the shadows themselves knew of the future. Leaning up against the trunk I close my eyes and make a promise, a promise that if anyone comes for this tree then this rain is not the storm people will need to be worried about. A bigger one will be coming.
